Launching Women: Lisa Rehurek, CEO of Miss Simplicity

Launching Women: Lisa Rehurek, CEO of Miss Simplicity

Lisa Rehurek is hands down one of the most brilliant and unassuming women I know.  She is the ideal balance of seriousness and FUN, and while she can rock your world with her mind, she can also make you laugh until your sides hurt.  I met Lisa at a Kim Flynn Business Intensive Retreat in June 2012 and we hit it off right away, but the first time we really got to know each other was at a Sales Academy in far away Eden, Utah about a month later.  Watching Lisa in action is inspiring.  After spending most of her career in the corporate world, Lisa took The Big Leap last year to take Miss Simplicity from a side business to her main business.  Now she is taking an even bigger leap and using all of her combined experience to consult women in business who need one on one and small group mentoring.  Lisa is extremely efficient and will cut through all of the minutia of your business to help you get a clear vision on what it is you are trying to accomplish.

Lisa is Hosting a Be Brave in Business Retreat November 2013

After attending business retreats, seminars, and working with her own personal coaches, Lisa is hosting her first Be Brave in Business Action Retreat in Scottsdale, Arizona November 21-24, 2014.  The retreat is all inclusive and will absolutely help you create a clear picture and solid plan to grow your business in 2014.  This is an exclusive retreat that will be very small with only 8 people!  Imagine one on one time with Lisa as well as in a mastermind group.  Powerful!  People pay thousands to spend one day with Lisa so this is a fantastic opportunity to have access to her knowledge, skill and content.  She discusses the retreat a bit more in our interview so check it out and check her out on Facebook!

Launching Women: Rebecca Clark, Chief Nudger at Nudge Village

Launching Women: Rebecca Clark, Chief Nudger at Nudge Village

I met Rebecca Clark about 15 years ago when we were both starry eyed post-college grads in Washington, DC.  Fortunately we have been able to stay in touch the past few years because of Facebook, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to interview her today.  She is furloughed because of the Government Shutdown, so she had the time to talk with me for a few minutes about her experience being in both a corporate and entrepreneurial world.  Nudge Village is a community designed to help promote the entrepreneur, and push forward big ideas.  It is a diverse networking group with members all over the United States, with the biggest focus being accountability.  On Nudge Village, you can sign up to receive 30 days of nudges for free.  There is also a free twitter course on authenticity, and a course called Find Your Entrepreneurial Niche.  There are also guest bloggers including Robert Kennedy from RPK Performance Consulting

Find Your Entrepreneurial Niche

In our interview, Rebecca talks about how to Find Your Entrepreneurial Niche.  It is based on your personality type, the environment you work best in, and how you interact with people.  Many entrepreneurs get started with a Big Idea, but, they don't know how to incorporate it into a business environment that is comfortable for them based on how they like to work.  Rebecca's course helps navigate those questions in order to know what kind of business to start.  Check out her training and information at Nudge Village!

So You Have a Big Idea and You Want to Start a Business - Week One

So You Have a Big Idea and You Want to Start a Business

I remember a few years ago when I got my first Big Idea and thought about starting a business around it.  In fact, I spent months creating products and training around helping families to be healthy.  I wasn't a health coach, but my focus was working with moms to help their kids transition to a plant based diet.  I created some seriously killer content, along with monthly activities to do with kids to help teach them about how to make healthy choices.   By the time I was done, I had no desire to actually SELL the program, and wasn't quite sure how to go about doing it anyway.

Is this you?

There are hundreds of books written about personal development, overcoming negative beliefs, and starting a business.  All of that was wonderful for me, but I was still burnt out and I hadn't even actually started!

I started questioning my follow through.  Admittedly, I am the type of person that loves big ideas and doesn't love working through the details, but in this case, the details were done.

I felt I needed to evaluate and reflect and see where I had made mistakes.  That was a massive number of hours only to never cross the starting line.  Starting a business is not easy - that is why it is important to start the right way...and not with product creation!

In the coming weeks, along with my Launching Women interviews, I will be sharing some tips that I have learned along the way and also sharing with you what I am doing on a daily basis to launch myself.  My goal is to be as open as possible to help other women (and men) as they are starting their businesses have a resource.  I will share successes and mistakes and keep it real.

Best Regards,
Heidi
